One of the most emblematic techniques employed by Virtus 1945 is sand casting, an ancient craftsmanship method that the company has perfected to meet the highest contemporary standards. 

The Sand Casting Process 

Sand casting begins with the creation of a pattern, usually made of wood or metal. This pattern is used to shape a mold in a special mixture of sand, binders, and clay. At Virtus 1945, skilled artisans meticulously mold the sand around the pattern, ensuring that every intricate detail is captured for the final piece. 

Once the sand mold is prepared, the pattern is carefully removed, leaving a hollow cavity that precisely reproduces the desired shape. At this stage, feeding and venting channels are introduced to guide the flow of molten metal and allow gases to escape during the casting process. 

The next step is the melting of bronze, a copper, tin and zinc alloy, in specialized furnaces. Heated to over 1,000 degrees Celsius, the metal transforms into a liquid state with a brilliant, glowing consistency. The artisans of Virtus 1945 skillfully pour the molten bronze into the sand molds, working swiftly and precisely to ensure an even distribution before the metal begins to solidify. 

Once cooled, the mold is broken apart to reveal the cast piece. This method guarantees that every creation is unique, as each sand mold is individually made and used only once. 

Finishing and Detailing 

After casting, each piece undergoes an extensive finishing process. Artisans carefully remove any irregularities using hand tools and polishing techniques. They then apply surface treatments such as patinas or gilding, enhancing the natural beauty of the bronze luxury decor while giving each item a distinctive, refined touch. 

Finally, every piece undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure it meets Virtus 1945’s high standards. This artisanal approach, combined with timeless design, has enabled the company to export its exquisite creations to more than 50 countries, captivating international markets.
