Bishop Design Bolsters Creativity with Fresh Talent to Fuel Global Ambitions

09 Dec. 2024

IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Bishop Design, a name synonymous with groundbreaking designs across the region, is making moves once again—but not in the way you might think. As part of an ambitious five-year plan, the company has made a series of key appointments aimed at shaping the future of the brand while reinforcing its leadership position in the industry, which has spanned over two decades.

Among the exciting new additions is Kimberly Dean, who steps into the brand-new role of Associate Director. In this pivotal position, Dean will work closely with Managing Director Mehmet Aktash, helping to strategize the next steps for Bishop Design while also alleviating the demands of the studio. This will allow Aktash the luxury of time to focus on spearheading the brand's growth. As the company begins laying the groundwork for further expansion—some of which, while still under wraps, are sure to make waves—Dean will play a critical role in supporting both the team’s needs and the overall growth of the business.

With eight years of experience in the design and fit-out industry, Dean’s background in marketing, sales, and business development aligns seamlessly with the company’s strategic goals. “I am thrilled to join the Bishop Design team,” Dean shared, “and look forward to working closely with the leadership team to drive our objectives and foster continued growth.”

The team also welcomes Paula Sastre as Design Project Manager, bringing her extensive experience as an interior designer and project manager from Spain to Dubai. Sastre will lead the charge in ensuring that projects maintain the high standards of quality and excellence Bishop Design is known for, while serving as a vital point of communication between clients and the design team to ensure seamless project execution.

Additionally, Mandi Carrillo and Ma. Jean Paulyn join as Design Managers. Carrillo, with over thirty years of experience, has long been part of the region’s design landscape, while Paulyn brings a diverse skill set to the role. Together, they will oversee internal team communication and ensure that the finer details of each design meet the firm’s high standards across its growing portfolio.

The design department has also been strengthened by the addition of Dayu Djuanda as Senior Interior Designer. With a combined three decades of experience spanning corporate, hospitality, F&B, and government sectors across Asia, India and Australia, Dayu’s expertise promise to inject fresh creative energy into Bishop Design’s expanding design portfolio.

Further complementing this growth is Sandeep Nayar, stepping into the newly created role of Post Contract Design Manager. Nayar’s experience in ensuring smooth project execution will play a vital role in upholding the firm’s commitment to excellence, particularly as Bishop Design takes on increasingly complex, large-scale projects.

These strategic appointments are part of an effort to evolve Bishop Design’s global footprint and align with its broader mission to take the brand to new heights. With ongoing U.S. expansion and whispers of more to come—think exciting new markets and other creative avenues—this is just the beginning. While the details remain under wraps for now, it’s clear that the firm is set on making the next 20 years even more transformative than the last.

With a dynamic new team in place, Bishop Design is well-positioned to continue its trajectory of success and innovation, shaping the future of design both regionally and internationally. As the brand prepares to take its next steps, one thing is certain: the best is yet to come.

Still to come; Known for iconic projects like En Fuego, Torno Subito, and SLS Dubai Residences, the firm is gearing up for the highly anticipated launch of FZN, brought to The Avenues of Atlantis The Palm by Michelin Starred Chef, Bjorn Frantzen. Culinary wizard Dmitry Blinov is set to open his second restaurant in Dubai Harbour, just over a year after launching his first international outpost, Duo Gastrobar, in Dubai Hills, which recently received a Bib Gourmand recognition. Once again, Bishop Design has brought their expertise to the table, crafting a distinctive and captivating interior for this latest Duo venue.
